Welcome to Our Church
Acts 4: 32-35
A church for everyone
These were people who shared a common heritage
They were people of different ages, personality and experiences
They were people who were strangers
These were people who all had made a confession of faith
They were people who had received the same spirit that had empowered the apostles to preach the faith
These were people who had taken the step of baptism
These were people who had laid their lives aside for a new life together in Christ.
Everyone is known (32)
They lived a shared life
That life they shared included all their dreams
Their stories, their hurts, their struggles, their victories
They made a decision that they would not live alone
They made a decision that they were the answer to others prayers
Everyone is needed
Everyone has something to contribute
Everyone has a need
There is blessing in giving as well as receiving
When we give especially through the church it will display God’s grace
Everyone is changing
This group of people allowed
God’s grace to work in them
God’s grace to flow through them
This group let the things of this world go and placed a higher calling of meeting people’s need above their own.
They entrusted others with their resources and their ability to distribute resources as needed.
Application
Are you living in a way that reflects your beliefs and the patterns of the early church? If not what needs to change?
Have you blessed someone by your serving? If not are you willing to get plugged in?
Have you been blessed because of your tithing and giving back to God? If not are you willing to commit to biblical tithing to the church?
What is holding you back from being known and becoming one in heart and mind with others in our church? Are you willing to become close with others?
